This page explains what information TAL Chess Academy collects through this website, why, who it's shared with, and how you can ask about, correct, or delete it. It applies to the trial-booking and contact forms on this site specifically — not to anything you might separately share with the Academy in person, by phone, or elsewhere.

This page is a plain description of what the site actually does, not a legal document. It hasn't been reviewed by a lawyer, doesn't claim compliance with any specific privacy law (GDPR, CCPA, or otherwise), and should be reviewed by a qualified legal or privacy professional before this site is used to collect information from real visitors.

What we collect

When you submit the "Book a Trial" form, we collect:

  • Student name and age
  • Parent/guardian name (if provided)
  • Phone number and email address
  • Chess experience level and program of interest
  • Preferred schedule and any message you include (both optional)

When you submit the "General Enquiry" form, we collect your name, email, phone number (optional), subject, and message.

We don't collect payment information, and we don't use analytics or advertising cookies — the only cookies this site sets are functional ones used by staff logging in to manage submissions, not anything that tracks visitors browsing the public pages.

Why we collect it

Solely to respond to your trial request or enquiry — to get in touch, schedule a trial lesson, place a student at the appropriate level, and answer your question. We don't use it for marketing, and we don't sell or rent it to anyone.

Who it's shared with

  • Academy staff, to review and respond to your submission.
  • Our email service provider, to deliver the confirmation email you receive and the notification staff receive — the content of that email includes what you submitted.
  • Our hosting provider, who stores the underlying database on our behalf.

We don't share submitted information with any other third party, and we don't run analytics, advertising trackers, or third-party font/asset services on this site — everything the page needs to display is served directly from our own server.

How long we keep it

We keep submissions for as long as they're an active enquiry or trial in progress. Once a submission is marked resolved, enrolled, or closed, it remains on file for a period the Academy sets internally, after which it's eligible for deletion. We haven't published a specific number of days here because that's a decision the Academy should make deliberately — with legal input if appropriate — rather than one this page should assert on its behalf.

Requesting a copy, correction, or deletion

To ask what information we hold about you, request a correction, or ask for it to be deleted, contact us using the details on our Contact page. We'll aim to respond within one business day, the same as any other enquiry.
