I've never played chess before. Can I still join?

Yes. The Beginner programme starts from the rules of the board — no prior experience assumed, and no expectation that you arrive knowing anything. Our trial form has "Never played" as an option precisely because that's where a lot of our students start.

Do you teach adults, or only children?

Both. We train juniors and adults alike, from a first lesson through a first rated tournament and beyond. Our programmes are organised by playing strength rather than age, so an adult beginner and a teenage beginner can sit in the same room without either being out of place.

How do I know which programme is right for me?

You don't need to work it out in advance — that's what the trial is for. Book a trial lesson and we'll place you at the right level after a short assessment across the board. If you'd like to make an informed guess first, our programmes are banded by rating: Intermediate is aimed at 1200–1800, Advanced at 1800+, and Beginner at anyone new to competitive play — but those bands are a starting guide, not a strict cutoff, since a 1250-rated player and a 1750-rated player often need quite different things from the same term.

What actually happens at a trial lesson?

Three steps. You tell us about your (or your child's) chess experience and pick a programme on the enquiry form. We reply within one business day to schedule a time. Then you sit across the board with a coach for a short assessment, and leave with a clear sense of which programme fits — whether or not you decide to continue with us.

How much do sessions cost?

Rates are per single 60-minute session, not per month. Beginner is PKR 1,500 online and PKR 2,500 in person; Intermediate and Advanced are PKR 3,000 online and PKR 4,000 in person. The full breakdown is on our programmes page.

How long does a programme run?

The Beginner and Intermediate programmes run in 12-week terms. Advanced runs in 12-week terms on an ongoing basis, since preparation at that level doesn't have a natural finish line.

Are lessons taught in groups?

Our three levelled programmes are taught in small groups — deliberately small, so that game reviews are detailed and individual weaknesses actually get addressed rather than averaged away.

Will I get to play competitively?

Yes. We run internal tournaments regularly so there's real competitive pressure between external events, and students train under classical time controls before they ever sit a rated game. Our events calendar lists what's coming up.

Where are you based, and when are you open?

We're based in Karachi — find us on Google Maps. Our hours are Monday to Saturday, 9am to 7pm. Full contact details are on our contact page.
