TAL Chess Academy

Think deeper.
Play with intention.

A structured training ground for players who want to compete — not just play. Experienced coaches, a disciplined curriculum, and a culture built around the board.

01 / 06 Est. Discipline

We believe chess is taught best as a discipline — not a hobby squeezed in on weekends.

TAL Chess Academy was founded on the conviction that serious improvement requires structure: a real curriculum, real feedback, and coaches who have competed at the level students aspire to. We train juniors and adults alike, from their very first lesson through their first rated tournament and beyond.

Every programme is built around the same principle — depth over breadth. Fewer openings, understood properly. Fewer positions, calculated thoroughly. It is a slower path, and it is the one that produces players who can actually hold their own across the board.

A structured path for every level

From a first competitive lesson to tournament-level preparation — each stage builds deliberately on the last.

New to competitive play · 12-week terms

Beginner

For anyone starting from zero or just past it — the rules, first tactics, and the opening principles that hold up regardless of what your opponent plays. No prior experience assumed.

PKR 1,500 per 60-min session
In person
PKR 2,500 per 60-min session
What you'll learn
  • Every piece's legal moves, check, checkmate, and stalemate
  • One-move tactics — forks, pins, skewers, hanging pieces — spotted reliably
  • Opening principles over opening memorisation: centre, development, king safety
  • Basic king-and-pawn endgames and the idea of opposition

Intermediate

Positional understanding, real calculation habits, and a small, properly understood opening repertoire — for players building toward consistent tournament results. Rated 1200–1800 as a guide; your trial lesson confirms exact placement.

Online
PKR 2,000 per 60-min session
In person
PKR 3,000 per 60-min session
What you'll learn
  • A capped, principle-first repertoire — two or three systems per colour, never a list to memorise
  • Explicit calculation training: naming candidate moves and verifying before you play
  • Rook and minor-piece endgame technique, including Lucena and Philidor positions
  • Independent game analysis, reviewed together with your coach

In person

What you'll learn
  • Judging when a position demands deep calculation versus when principle is enough

What sets our training apart

01

Experienced Coaches

Coaches who work through the reasoning behind every move, not just the move itself, and hold each student to a standard they can actually reach.

02

Structured Curriculum

A progression built on decades of pedagogical practice, not a loose collection of tactics puzzles.

03

Tournament Preparation

Students train against the clock, under classical time controls, before they ever sit a rated game.

04

Individual Attention

Small group sizes and detailed game reviews mean every student's weaknesses are actually addressed.

05

Competitive Environment

Regular internal tournaments keep the stakes real between external competitions.

Compete beyond the classroom
